Acupuncturists use disposable sterilized stainless steel needles of fine diameter. They are much smaller in diameter than needles used for injections (and are therefore far less painful) and are very flexible.
It is a part of a whole system of medicine called Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and involves the insertion of hair fine needles into certain locations to stimulate the body’s healing energy. The needles are inserted with great care, and then manipulated to produce a warmth or tickly sensation.

Acupuncture is fast becoming recognised the world over as a safe and reliable method of treatment for a great many conditions - millions of people world-wide have benefited.
